Treat yourself to professional cleansing everyday with Clarisonic
What is a Clarisonic and how does it work?
The Clarisonic is a powerful, oscillating brush used by dermatologists, estheticians and other skin care professionals to cleanse their clients skin. The brushes oscillate at a rate of 300 movements per second, creating a sonic frequency that compliments the skin’s natural elasticity. This sonic frequency and the motions created by the brush draw impurities out of the pores, allowing creams, serums, moisturizers and other products to be absorbed better. All it takes is a minute a day and you’re on your way to beautiful skin!
What are the benefits of using a Clarisonic?
Cleansing your face and body with your hands isn’t as effective as you’d initially think. Our hands can only do so much and we have to rely on products to do the rest of the work. Unfortunately, our products aren’t always absorbed as well as they could be. This is because cleansing with our hands can only remove so much. Meaning we are usually left with make-up residue, oily films, bumps underneath our skin, trapped oil in our pores –the list goes on. Through the use of the Clarisonic, you can see these symptoms diminish and see improvements in your skin quickly.
Some benefits include:
- acne greatly reduced (most people saw a significant improvement in only two weeks)
- improved texture and a radiant complexion
- reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- reduces the appearance of oil and shine by removing the excess oils within the skin
- reduced dry and rough patches of skin
- decreased redness
- firmer, brighter and more hydrated skin
- better make-up application
Is the Clarisonic right for me?
Clarisonic is dermatologist tested and recommended. It is safe to use on all skin types. The Clarisonic is non-damaging to the skin because it works with the skin’s natural elasticity. The Clarisonic is even beneficial for Rosacea because it oxygenates their skin, thereby reducing the appearance of their symptoms and helping to improve the skin’s condition.
Are there any circumstances when I shouldn’t use a Clarisonic?
Yes. If any of the following currently apply to you, avoid using the Clarisonic…
- if you have an extreme sunburn*
- if you have open wounds or lesions*
- if you are on medication which weakens the skin (ex: Accutane, Retin A, Renova, Adapalene)**
- if you are recovering from a recent cosmetic facial procedure (ex: microdermabrasion)Is the Clarisonic right for me?Clarisonic is dermatologist tested and recommended. We have a recommendation for first time users who plan on purchasing a Clarisonic for home use.
How we at Fresh recommend using the Clarisonic for first timers…
After our head esthetician Jocelyn researched several reviews of people online who have used Clarisonic for the first time, she noticed that several of them experienced the ‘purging’ phase. What is the purging phase? The purging phase sometimes occurs when the Clarisonic is used every day twice a day by people who have used it for the first time. Because the Clarisonic draws oils out of the skin, using it too much at first can draw too much oil to just beneath the surface of the skin -leading to a breakout. We have come up with a way to avoid this phase and Kristina (fellow esthetician) has personally tested it. Kristina has been struggling with her acne for a long time and was eager to test Jocelyn’s idea.
For the first week:
Use the Clarisonic 3 times only, preferably at night to remove the day’s accumulation of pollution. Continue cleansing at least once a day with your hands to promote results while avoiding over-stimulating.
The second week:
Use the Clarisonic 5 times that week, using the same principles as above.
The third week:
Begin integrating the Clarisonic everyday. If you feel comfortable, begin using it twice a day. By this point, your skin and the sebaceous glands should be adjusted to the power of the Clarisonic.
I am on my third week and I am is using the Clarisonic everyday now, often twice a day, as recommended. I have only had one whitehead and it was hormonal. I’ve has noticed fewer breakouts, less bumps underneath my skin, reduced oiliness, significant reduction in redness. My skin is brighter, smoother, softer and healthier.
What we have in store for you at Fresh
At Fresh Salon and Spa, we carry the Mia 2 and the Smart Profile Clarisonic cleansing systems. Both are very effective cleansing devices, it all boils down to what you personally need. The Mia 2 you may have already heard of, but the Smart Profile is newer and not available everywhere. Both models are rechargeable and water-proof, but there are significant differences between the two.
How the Smart Profile is different
The Smart Profile is the #1 cleansing device recommended by U.S. Dermatologists. It is an innovation on the current Clarisonic models. The Smart Profile is the first Clarisonic to use smart chip technology. What are the smart chips and what do they do? The smart chips are inside of the body and head of the brushes. When the brush comes into contact with the skin, it can detect the skin’s texture and send a signal to the body of the brush. Meaning that if you have a significant textural difference, the brush will detect it and accommodate to use less or more power.
The Smart Profile comes with two smart brush heads, one for the face and one for the body. This means that it can be used from head to toe. The body brush is commonly used dry to treat cellulite, but it can also be used in the shower. The body brush is very effective for people who work in factories, to remove the accumulated debris and oil after a shift. The body brush is a luxurious exfoliation experience. It can give you better waxing results, less ingrown hair and bumps, less body acne, less blotchy spray tan results. You can treat yourself to a spa experience everyday!
The Smart Profile has four different speeds to suit your daily needs. It has the same speeds as the Mia 2, but with two additional speeds for deeper, more effective cleansing. The third speed is powerful enough to help you loosen up those stubborn blackheads. Turbo mode is ideal for body cleansing. It is the most powerful. If you’re going to cleanse your body effectively, you need to understand that the skin on our body is different from our face. Most skin on the body isn’t as delicate and needs more power to get all of the benefits that the face gets from gentler cleansing.
We at Fresh also recommend purchasing a sensitive or delicate brush head with your Smart Profile cleansing device. Our estheticians are more than happy to help you to pick the brush that is right for you.
Yours truly Kristina 🙂
